Rudisha to commence season in Australia .

If its not broken, don't fix it. That's the message from 800m world record holder David Rudisha, who will mirror the start of his record breaking 2010 season when he takes to the track at the Melbourne Track Classic and Sydney Track Classic in March

Last year Rudisha clocked an Australian all-comers record in his opening two lap race of the year the Melbourne Track Classic, recording 1:43.15 before going on to twice break the global mark during the European season with runs of 1:41.09 and 1:41.01.
Whilst last season Rudisha ran the 400m at the Sydney Track Classic and 800m in Melbourne, this season's event grid currently sees the 800m only scheduled for Sydney, providing the Harbour city's 800m national medalists Lachlan Renshaw, James Kaan and James Gurr a chance to take on the world's best on their home turf.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better year in 2010, starting with my time in Australia,” Rudisha said.
“I hope that running in Melbourne and Sydney will again set me up for a strong season and success at the world championships in Daegu.”
Despite holding the mantle as the fastest man ever over 800m, Rudisha has not yet achieved championship success at the open level, with him failing to make the final at the 2009 world championships in Berlin.
